Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty

For many individuals, a slight bump or asymmetry of their nose is bothersome, but not enough to undergo a traditional rhinoplasty.

Fortunately, a non-surgical nose job can improve the nasal size and shape in under 30 minutes with minimal downtime.

What is a non-surgical nose job?

A non-surgical nose job is performed in-office and does not require general anesthesia, incisions, or sutures. By injecting a dermal filler like Restylane or Juvederm into the nose, an experience physician can straighten the bridge, correct bumps, and lift the tip.

Many patients are surprised and delighted that this treatment can refine their profile and produce surgery-like results over their lunch break.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty benefits

Patients often elect to have a non-surgical rhinoplasty because they want to improve the appearance of their nose, but do not want the risks or downtime associated with surgery.

While recovery from a traditional nose job includes significant swelling, bruising, stitches, and a cast, the side effects of a non-surgical rhinoplasty are minimal to none.

In addition, the cost of a non-surgical nose job usually starts at around $1000 per treatment (maintenance is required), whereas a surgical one can be $5000-$16,000 depending on the experience and location of the physician.

However, it’s important to note that the results of a non-surgical nose job are temporary and last nine months – two years depending on the dermal filler used.

This lack of permanency can be a benefit for patients that want to try a subtle change to their noses before committing to a long- term result.

Treatment process

Patients should always seek a board-certified physician that has the skill and expertise to perform a non-surgical rhinoplasty. He/she will examine your nose and discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure.

Prior to treatment, a topical anesthetic is applied to the nose for 20 minutes. Once the nose is numbed, a series of injections will be made on the bridge, nostrils, and nasal tip, and the filler will be molded to correct asymmetry and reshape the nose.

Most patients find a non-surgical nose job to be very comfortable, with some minor pinching when the tip of the nose is injected.

Non-surgical nose job results

Results of a non-surgical nose job are immediate, and there may be some slight swelling and bruising that can be covered with makeup and will resolve within five-to-seven days.

Patients are advised not to wear heavy sunglasses for one-to-two weeks and to return for a follow-up appointment in two weeks.
